The Echoscope PIPE® CIVS (Close-In Visualisation System) has established itself as a benchmark for ultra-high-resolution, real-time 3D volumetric imaging at close range. Built on innovative Echoscope PIPE® technology, CIVS operates at frequencies up to 1.15 MHz, delivering exceptional image clarity and fine target detail in some of the most challenging underwater environments.

Advanced multi-aspect imaging and dynamic field-of-view windowing allow operators to isolate and enhance targets, achieve faster imaging update rates, and overcome the acoustic challenges commonly encountered in cluttered, short-range operational scenarios.

Designed for the real-time identification and inspection of small targets and features at ranges from 0.1 m to 30 m, CIVS has become a trusted solution for applications including UXO operations, close-up inspections, ROV intervention monitoring, and other subsea intervention activities.

The original CIVS platform achieved unprecedented levels of detail using nine separate MHz transmitters, each precisely targeting its own volume to rapidly build a highly detailed composite image. Advancement in acoustic technology and real-time processing have now enabled us to take the next step forward by combining these separate elements into a single technology block: CIVS DUO.
 

 
CIVS DUO can be mounted alongside the standard Echoscope PIPE® 375 kHz technology block, bringing together ultra-high-resolution close-range imaging and proven longer-range volumetric sonar performance on a single platform.

By integrating both technologies into one solution, CIVS DUO removes the traditional compromise between image detail and operational range. Operators can seamlessly switch between ultra-high-definition close-range visualisation and real-time 3D volumetric imaging at ranges of up to 120 metres, providing enhanced situational awareness across the full operational envelope.

With dynamic fields of view ranging from 54° × 54° to 46° × 46° across the 315 kHz to 425 kHz operating band, CIVS DUO delivers exceptional flexibility for subsea inspection, intervention, IED/UXO identification, and ROV operations.
