Further enhancing your ability to quickly locate and detect leakages, complementary data visualization and processing engine, CodaOctopus® Underwater Survey Explorer (USE), comes standard with Oil Detection color palettes that will highlight the data likely to be comprised of oil and other fluids of different density than water, based on the INTENSITY of the acoustic energy returned. This color scheme means that even an inexperienced operator can quickly and reliably identify a leak with pinpoint accuracy.
USE captures all software features for optimizing the visualization of Echoscope 3D data with options for live tagging and full editing of important snippets of data, known as markers, beam-by-beam editing, a number of digital terrain model (DTM) output methods, and a Volumetric Rendering engine that enables data to be rendered as a high resolution textured model. USE also contains several beneficial charting capabilities including the ability to display ENC files that provide the pilot with an instantaneous view of the area surveyed and importing pre-lay survey lines to be visualized in real time. Chart View will also show the total area already covered in the survey, reducing survey time from overlap and ensuring complete coverage of the survey area. If required USE can export your survey data in the common XYZ point cloud format, and the even easier to use Google Earth KML file for quick presentations of the data with real-world context.
By adding a MOTION GPS positioning sensor, such as our F180 Series Position and Attitude System, the Echoscope and USE visualization software can create constantly displayed geo-referenced images as data is collected.
With the integration of our Integrated Pan and Tilt (IPT) and Integrated Single-Axis Rotator (ISAR) the capability and extend of real-time monitoring can be significantly increased, particularly for slow or static deployments such as barges. The use of external positioning on targets requiring discrete tracking can additionally be configured in the USE software to provide autonomous tracking over the entire IPT or ISAR field of movement. If the operator can see the leak, then they can track it automatically with the IPT as the vessel moves around it.
The real-time 3D volumetric Echoscope also can be deployed from Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), providing valuable visualization of the subsea environment at great depths, particularly important for identifying leaks in undersea pipelines or valve systems. These deployment versatility and uniquely tuned features make the Echoscope useful for a number of applications, from creating real-time 3D models of downed oil platforms and super structures to the detection of leaks in real-time.
