Introducing the Echoscope PIPE NANO Gen Series® Inspector System

Deploy Anywhere. See Everything.

Ultra-compact. Man-portable. Full pan and tilt rotation. Real-time 3D underwater scene awareness for live operations and dive support in constrained-access inspection operations.

Coda Octopus is delighted to introduce the new Echoscope PIPE NANO Gen Series® Inspector System, an ultra-compact, man-portable and rapidly deployable inspection platform designed to deliver real-time 3D underwater situational awareness in environments where traditional vessel-based sonar deployment is impractical or unnecessary, including critical infrastructure, bridge pilings, tunnel and culvert entrances, confined waterways and other restricted-access locations.

Built around the latest Echoscope PIPE NANO Gen Series® real-time 3D sonar and incorporating the equally compact NANO Pan and Tilt Rotator, the NANO Inspector delivers exceptional performance from an extremely small and lightweight platform. With sonar technology only marginally larger than a smartphone and the NANO Rotator being extremely compact, the system provides a highly manoeuvrable solution for underwater inspection, scanning and security applications with and without diver support where portability, rapid deployment and real-time results and costs are critical factors.

Unlike the previous-generation C500 Inspector, which provided single-axis rotation, the NANO Inspector incorporates the newly launched NANO Rotator, delivering fully responsive pan and tilt motion at speeds of up to 20° per second. This enhanced freedom of movement enables rapid scanning and continuous situational awareness from a single deployment position.

When combined with the proven real-time 3D imaging capabilities of Echoscope PIPE® technology, the NANO Inspector allows operators to quickly visualize, inspect, and monitor underwater environments with significantly greater coverage, flexibility, and operational efficiency. The ability to rapidly reposition the sonar without moving the Inspector deployment platform reduces acoustic shadowing, improves target characterization, and accelerates inspection and assessment tasks.

The NANO Inspector delivers exceptional deployment flexibility across a wide range of underwater inspection applications. Its robust, extendable tripod can be placed directly on the seabed to provide a stable observation platform close to the target area or operated in Hanging Mode, allowing the system to be deployed quickly by lowering it from the side of a barge, quay, pier, or other waterside structure.

An integrated GPS, depth sensor, and Attitude Heading and Reference System (AHRS) ensures all acquired data is accurately geo-referenced and correctly oriented, regardless of the deployment configuration. For scanning applications, the 4G USE® and DAVD Flex software options enable data from multiple deployment locations to be seamlessly combined following a GPS position fix acquired at the surface. This allows operators to efficiently survey and map significantly larger areas than can be achieved from a single scan position, while maintaining accurate spatial alignment between successive datasets.

Compact, lightweight, and rapidly deployable, the NANO Inspector is ideally suited for diver support, tunnel and culvert inspections, quayside and nearshore infrastructure surveys, harbour security operations, ship hull inspections, and the assessment of underwater assets in confined or otherwise difficult-to-access environments. Its versatility enables operators to inspect more locations with greater efficiency while minimizing deployment time and operational complexity.

Further expanding the solution’s versatility, the NANO Inspector is fully compatible with our Echoscope PIPE® CIVS Surface Sonar, our highest-resolution real-time 3D sonar, delivering exceptional close-range imaging performance for ultra-detailed inspections of critical infrastructure and ship hulls.

The NANO Inspector System provides straightforward access to its core sensing components, including the Echoscope PIPE® Sonar, NANO Rotator, and the integrated GPS, depth sensor, and Attitude Heading and Reference System (AHRS). Each of these components can be quickly removed from the tripod assembly and integrated onto alternative platforms, including ROVs, barges, and survey vessels, maximizing equipment utilization and providing exceptional deployment flexibility across multiple mission profiles.

Many customers also complement the NANO Inspector with the Diver Handheld accessory, enabling divers to carry the Echoscope PIPE® sonar directly to the point of interest for true first-person underwater inspection and real-time situational awareness.

Already trusted by several naval organizations worldwide as part of their diver support and underwater inspection programs, the Echoscope PIPE NANO Gen Series® Inspector System represents the next evolution in portable underwater inspection technology. Combining modularity, rapid deployment, complete scene coverage, and proven real-time 3D imaging, it delivers exceptional operational flexibility and performance in a remarkably compact and lightweight package.
