We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Echoscope PIPE® WAVM capability, our latest innovation around our Echoscope PIPE® underwater imaging technology.

Echoscope PIPE® WAVM represents the next evolution in real-time 3D volumetric sonar mapping. Building on proven Echoscope® technology, WAVM introduces ultra-wide-area acoustic mapping capability, delivering swath coverage of up to 125° across-track x 25°.

 

 

For the first time, users can maintain persistent, real-time volumetric observation of the full water column while simultaneously generating mapped seafloor coverage of up to four times the water depth—providing, for example, instantaneous coverage of approximately 1,300 m² of seabed in just 25 metres of water depth.

This capability enables operators from a single sensor to simultaneously:

  • Monitor dynamic underwater scenes in real time
  • Track moving targets within the water column
  • Visualise vertical structures and subsea infrastructure
  • Map the seafloor with significantly extended coverage

Echoscope PIPE® WAVM removes the limitations of traditional “survey-after-the-fact” workflows, allowing operators to instead interact with a real time 3D representation of the subsea environment as operations take place—supporting faster decision-making and improved situational awareness.

The WAVM transducer can be installed alongside standard Echoscope PIPE® medium- and high-frequency transducers, allowing a single sonar system to perform multiple roles, from wide-area mapping with WAVM to tightly focussed high-frequency inspection. Crucially, with our Sequencer technology, it can perform both tasks simultaneously. 

Availability

WAVM technology is available now on all new Echoscope PIPE® sonar systems, including the C500.

Existing customers with PIPE® Sonars can upgrade to the WAVM Model.

All our rental Echoscope PIPE® sonars include the WAVM capability.
