The Octopus 460P is the portable, small vessel version of the highly successful Octopus 460 Sonar Acquisition System. Housed in a waterproof offshore Peli-Case, the 460P offers digital side-scan sonar data on small open vessels.

The 460P is a rugged, portable sonar acquisition system compatible with most industry standard sidescan sonars. With simple splash-proof key pad controls and in-built TFT screen it allows the essential functions of high quality data acquisition in any operating environment. The 460 is compatible with the Octopus 160 allowing direct connection to analogue towfish from Klein and Edgetech, extending the operational life of these popular sonars.

The Octopus 460PX, as supplied to the UK Royal Navy and the Swedish Navy, includes the high performance CM2 dual frequency towfish and optional battery pack creating a highly portable, self-contained sidescan system ideal for operation for small vessels.
