Thermal recorder for continuous greyscale printing
With an excellent worldwide track record as robust and reliable recorders, Octopus greyscale thermal printers are in use by many of the world's leading hydrographic survey companies and marine institutions.
The two Octopus printer models - the 120+ and the 200 - produce high quality continuous images onto thermal paper or film and are ideal for hardcopy output of geophysical and other continuous data. Offering 200 dpi print resolution at up to 256 grey levels, data can be printed at very high resolution on both models. They are both easily interfaced with commonly used data sources and with a unique three channel input capability, fully independent channel settings allow simultaneous display of geophysical data such as seismic and sidescan sonar.

The Octopus 120+ features a new menu-driven interface and the wide range of interface options including Ethernet, USB and parallel (Centronics) ensure compatibility with most PC based acquisition systems. It has a print width of 2368 pixels whilst the Octopus 200 model prints 4096 pixels.
The thermal paper supplied by CodaOctopus is the only media tested and approved for use with all Octopus, Ultra, Dowty and Waverley printers. It combines high quality image output with low abrasion and minimal print-head fouling.
